Kids…Join the Club!  The Pee Wee Penguin Young Savers Club is especially designed for our young members ages 12 and under. NHFCU has teamed up with Pee Wee Penguin to help young savers learn how to save and manage money.  It's easy to save for things like a scooter, a bike, a car or college!  It's never too soon to save your money for the future.

Club members receive a personalized Club ID card, quarter savers, deposit incentives, and fun quarterly newsletters.  Other activities are announced through our quarterly mailings.

 CLUB BENEFITS For members ages 13-17 ---Only If You Join the Club!

• CHECKING Accounts with no minimum balance requirement, no monthly service charges, and no cut-off times for deposit.  This is a FREE checking account that includes automatic transfer from savings to cover overdrafts (six per calendar month).  Your first box of checks is FREE. This is a great way to learn the skills for balancing a checkbook!  A parent cosigner is required.
• ATM & DEBIT Card is FREE with no annual or monthly fee to maintain. Overdraft protection loan is required with a co-signed application. Refer to Truth-in-Savings disclosure and ATM & Debit Card Page for more details. Parental approval is required.
• CERTIFICATES are available with a minimum of $100 and for a 24-month term.  We will pay CU Succeed™ Membersan additional .25% over regular members rates to encourage thrift.
• CREDIT MATTERS.
  • CO-SIGNED LOANS are available for new or used vehicles, mountain bikes, class pictures or for any worthwhile purpose.  We’ll give our CU Succeed™ Members a .25% rate reduction off our already low loan rates.
  • STUDENT LOANS are available for college and technical school.  Use our Lender ID #829994 when applying.
  •   VISA Credit Card is a low fixed rate, no annual fee card with a 25-day grace period on purchases.  Cosignor is required.
• CREDIT WHEN CREDIT IS DUE is a course developed to give individuals a better knowledge of money issues and responsibilities revolving around the world of credit.  We believe so strongly in teaching good credit habits that we will reimburse any CU Succeed™ member 50% of the cost of the course.  Proof of completion and payment required.

  • Home Banking.   From our web site, simply log into the home banking product at the top of any page.  
  • Audio Response Teller.  Our 24x7 audio reponse teller is available for you to transfer funds, check balances and more at no cost to you.

• NEWSLETTERS with cool ideas and money saving tips are mailed quarterly to club members.  Articles are primarily written by teens for teens. View newsletter.

• NHFCU SCHOLARSHIP Program is available to graduating Seniors who are members of the CU Succeed™ Club.  Northern Hills Federal provides two $500 scholarships annually to graduating seniors who are members of the CU Succeed™ Program. Graduating Seniors may also be eligible if they were prior Club members, reached age 18, and were rolled out of the Club membership due to age restrictions.   Applications available January of each year.

• NEW SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY!  Mid America Credit Union Association is pleased to announce a fantastic opportunity for the young adults in our credit union family!  They will award ten $500 scholarships - five in North Dakota and five in South Dakota - to deserving youth in the Dakotas.

• EARN MONEY & GET PUBLISHED! CU Succeed™ is a national credit union program to help educate teens on financial issues, and is always looking for articles written by teens like you!  If your article is published in a national newsletter, you will receive $50.  If your article is published on the CU Succeed™ interactive web site, you will receive $25.  If your article is used, your school will even receive a donation.  Click on the CU Succeed™ icon for more information.

This account is just right for the senior member aged 60 and over. Direct deposit of your pension or paycheck and receive free money orders and notary service.

The club member also receives a special birthday mailing with a coupon for choice of free checks or other credit union discounts or merchandise. The Senior then Selects the options best for them!  Ask a Service Associate for details.
